I booked two tickets for 12 th June, 2017 a flight from BBS to LKO. The first sector from BBS to DEL was on AI-78. This flight was rescheduled by AI and could not connect to second sector DEL to LKO. So I had to cancel the ticket on 11th June, 2017. I was assured by AI and MMT that full refund will be processed. MMT customer care even added further that it would take maximum of 10 days starting from 11th June, 2017. Leaving Sundays and Saturdays by 23rd June, 2017 the refund should have been credited. But on 25th June, I noticed no refund in my account. So I contacted the customer care of MMT. This time the fellow on the other end informed me the breakup for refund processing is: 7 working days for Airlines, 3 working days for MMT and 12 working days for Bank. It meant a total of 22 days plush 6-8 holidays. So, any cancellation of booking on MMT would take effectively 30 days. After I submitted the complaint about this on Grahak Jago, MMT contacted me today. A lady called Shivani from MMT customer care and informed that MMT's processing time is 6 working days and they have just received refund from AI (on 29th June). So, I could expect the refund to be credited to my account in about further 18 working days. This revises the refund processing from mere 10 working days to 36 working days. The travel aggregators like MMT are indulging in extremely unethical trade practice. So, I will request Ministry of Company Affairs and Ministry of Civil Aviation to take note of my complaint on MMT and take appropriate actions against travel aggregators for cheating in the name of processing.
