Topics of discussion can be almost anything but let's not make this a boring fiasco of bandhs forever, as is the major factor that's affecting West Bengal right now.
The current situation has to do with whether its right, the word is underlined mind you, to acquire land in the name of industrial growth.
Does India need more cars than rice? Doesn't India have larger issues that need to be taken care of other than creating SEZs?
Does the government have anything to do about the population explosion? Is it fine to have more and more people facing unemployment these days? Does producing more cars enable farmers to have jobs? Does it make any sense to call a bandh when bandhs are ineffective because the current party in power is not listening?
Economists are forecasting that in a few years we will be importing rice from abroad!!! Is that logical? Why should we do that if we produce enough rice for ourselves? Instead of providing farmers loans, why aren't the scientists coming up with methods of organic farming to stop the farmers from committing suicide? What does the WTO have to do with this?
We want you to take up these issues and give us your opinions so that you can address the queries to the respective departments.
